SHORT-TERM GOALS

BE CULTURALLY AWARE

I want to expose myself to cultures that are different my own and acknowledge that among cultures, there are some major differences. With that, I want to use this to positively influence my perspective on life and be more open to different experiences and opinions.

FOCUS ON ACADEMICS

Although I am extremely involved on campus, a top priority must always be academics. It is important for me to focus on my classes because they will prepare me for my career and succeeding in the classroom will allow me to proceed to medical school after my undergraduate career.

BE COMFORTABLE WITH BEING UNCOMFORTABLE

In order to improve and learn, I must be comfortable with being uncomfortable. Skills that I have learned have not develop with ease and I hope to continue to push myself to trying new things that will make me uncomfortable, but will also be a great learning experience. This could be something as simple as running an extra mile or becoming more outgoing.

BECOME A PEDIATRICIAN

My ultimate career goal is to become a successful and well respected pediatrician in my field. I am currently interested in becoming either a general pediatrician or a pediatric oncologist. In either regard, I hope to create a enjoyable experience for my patients and staff.

DEVELOP MY LEADERSHIP SKILLS

Improvement can always be made during college, I would like to take the time to develop and refine my skills as a leader. Leadership can be defined in a number of ways, but I hope to achieve a balance between a person that one respects and a person that one can confide in. I can achieve this by being more assertive in certain situations and also be willing to take more risks.

GIVE BACK TO THOSE IN NEED

I have been given countless opportunities in my life and I want to take time to give back to organizations that have given so much to me. It is also a priority of mime to give opportunity to those that do not have adqeute resources to access wonderful opportunity. I would like to do this by joining the Peace Corps after graduation and serving organizations in my community.
